The students are heading into November with a well-deserved victory! Led by the Junior Varsity and Varsity volleyball girls in the Students VS Teachers Volleyball event, they won all three sets, breaking the tie from last year!
The event reignited the tense and exciting spirit from last year’s basketball game, bringing the student body together to fill the gym balcony and courtside benches. We spoke to Lamija Skapur, a player on the student team, who enjoyed the experience and appreciated the effort the teachers put into the match. She noted how “the students tried to adjust to their playing level to make it more fun and entertaining.”
We also reached out to Mr. Kissell, a player on the teacher team for both events, who shared; “Although we know they took it a little easy on us, I think we gave it our best, and made some pretty good plays!” He felt the experience was an exciting and fun way to bond as a group and “can't wait for more student-teacher games in the future!”
Both students and teachers were thrilled to experience the event again, and we hope student teacher games become a regular tradition. Take your guesses: what sport will they play next time?
